What is Koodo Shock-Free data?
Shock-Free data lets you be in control of your own data usage so you can avoid unexpected charges. That means you’ll never go over your data again without knowing. We’ll send you a text when you’re at 50%, 90% and 100% of your data usage.
When you reach your limit, we’ll pause your data so you don’t go over, which means no surprises on your bill.
What happens when my data is paused?
You can top up your data directly from your Koodo phone with these two options:
1) Use your plan’s data pay-per-use rate
2) Top up your data for $20/1 GB
Can I turn off my data alerts?
You betcha! Data alerts can be turned off in your Self Serve account. If you turn them off, you won’t receive any more data alerts (50%, 90% and 100%). That means you won't be blocked when you go over your data limit.
Which plans include Shock-Free data?
All of our Koodo monthly plans launching March 10, 2016, include Shock-Free data at no extra charge. You'll know if your plan has this feature by logging into Self Serve and checking out your plan description.
How can existing customers take advantage of Shock-Free data?
If you’re an existing customer, you’ll need to change to a current Koodo plan. You can do this by using Self Serve or renewing your Tab.
What happens when I buy the $20/1 GB top-up and use up all my data?
If you use up all of your data, it will be paused again. You can choose to continue using your data, but you’ll be charged your plan’s data pay-per-use rate.
How long can the $20/1 GB top-up be used for?
It can only be used within the same bill cycle. Any leftover data can’t be carried over to the next bill cycle.
Do data alerts work on Talk & Text monthly plans?
Yes. You’ll get a text message from us when you use 50%, 90% and 100% of your pay-per-use data, and your data will also be paused.
